CEEPAM is web site orientated toward an international scientific community that works in the field of migratory studies and mobility of populations. The special emphasis made manifest here and now by migratory issues does not overshadow, however, the interest in the studies on population in every aspect, that do have a special treatment in the virtual magazine: Revista de Poblacion y Migraciones.

  The mark that a ancient migratory tradition has been leaving behind in the conformation of some communities and territories, its own historical conscious of the immigration or emigration, was, at times, a force to create centres for documentation and study that go through the problems that each day are more and more necessary for precise and rigorous investigations. Galicia, being an intense migratory community in Spain, constitutes an ideal scenario for a project such as the one represented by CEEPAM. A project academically joined with Galician universities, and its materialisation has been thanks to the support of well known Spanish and foreign investigators, that joined forces for an initiative of these characteristics.

   CEEPAM, while enlarging in a special way the investigations on migratory and demographic studies, aspires to establish a relation of interchange and fluid communication with other centres of documentation and investigation, also has a centre of Documental Reference on Galician emigration, and in a dynamic form, incorporates a data base of Galician out of the country.
